Aesthetic medicine offers an effective treatment for scars, stretch marks, lines and wrinkles.
The before/after photos shown below illustrate use of different lasers, including the fractional ablative (fraxel), CO2 and erbium lasers.
The principle of this act is to stimulate dermal synthesis. Intense heat is targeted on the skin by the laser, creating tiny wells in the skin. In response, fibroblasts, the skin’s cells, then start producing thicker and better organised skin cells.
About 4 sessions will be needed.
The optimal result is obtained 3 months after the laser session.
I prefer to use the erbium rather than the CO2 laser, as it is absorbed less by water (and so the side-effects are less traumatic), and if set properly, will achieve the same results as a CO2 laser.
