Periorbital Syringoma laser removal

1 (5)

Syringomas are small, binned skin tumors derived from the excretory duct of eccrine sweat ducts, present on the whole skin. There are two varieties of syringoma:
- Syringomas of the eyelids, small pink white papules, located at the level of the eyelids. They are more common among Asian women.
-The eruptive syringomas of the thorax, small pink papules more or less itchy.

POSSIBLE TREATMENTS

Electrocoagulation

A small needle is placed on the lesion, an electric current is released in the syringoma allowing its destruction. The advantage of this technique is its precision, the selective treatment of the lesion without damaging the surrounding tissues.

Anesthetic cream is applied to the office for the comfort of the patient. The disappearance of syringoma is immediate. The healing takes about a week, week during which there will be a makeup redness and small edema. The final result is obtained in three months, small surface irregularities can persist the first time. The After effects are light.

Ablative laser, CO2 or erbium

The ablative laser allows the lesion to be sprayed out. It is necessary to use a laser which allows a cold ablation, that is to say a pure ablation without heat.I like this technique which is a little less painful than electrocoagulation but often the lesions are too small, smaller than the diameter of the laser beam. The skin is raw for a few days, redness and swelling last about a week. The final result is obtained in three months, small irregularities of surface can persist the first times.

Dry snow

Highly used in dermatology, dry ice allows the selective removal of lesions. The skin is raw immediately after. The consequences are similar to those of the laser treatment although they are lighter. Makeup can be applied after 3-4 days.

Medium peel (chemical or laser)

When fine lines and sagging skin of the eyelid are associated, and the patient wishes an improvement of these components, a medium peel can be achieved. A chemical or laser ablation is performed at the level of the entire lower eyelid, to the middle dermis.

Combination of TCA and  CO2 laser

Recent studies combine these two treatments, personally I find the combination risky, side effects are possible.
